New Dress!!

I have now finished my new wool dress!! Well, it's more like my new wool bodice! I made the skirt last year with another bodice, that did not turn out as well as I had wished. This year I made a new bodice out of the same wool that I used last year. This year's bodice had a straight waist and slim cut sleeves with a double puff cap on them. It was trimmed in burgundy velvet ribbon on the bodice and the lower part of the sleeve. I really like how this one turned out! I did wear this dress to our annual Dicken's Holiday and placed third in the costume contest. I have quite a few holiday events that I plan on wearing it to this year, since it is my only nice winter dress.

Kinston

We will be headed to Kinston this weekend for the annual CSS Neuse Living History. This is a good event every year, rather small but a good opportunity to share history with people who really care. I have finally made my new bodice out of grey wool that I plan on wearing. It is straight waist with darts, and slim cut- double puff sleeves! I still have to attach the sleeve to the bodice and make a collar and cuffs, but those are fairly easy! I would like to trim it before this weekend, but we will see.
I also want to fix the broken rung in my cage before this weeked so that I am not walking around with tape on it :).
