This past weekend we celebrated the 146th Battle of Bentonville. The battle was March 19-21 1865, but this year we rolled the clock back to 1861, right after secession. North Carolina Seceeded May 20, 1861 and North Carolina became rampant with volunteer troops to support the newly formed CSA. This year the site decided to portray the early war enlistment phase by having the town of Bentonville buzz with the news of secession and the mustering of troops. The weekend was a hit with spectators and reenactors. Ladies Prepare to Present the Flag to the newly formed "Johnston Volunteers"
